4K Recording at 30fps – Introducing the GoPro Hero4

Today, GoPro announced their latest camera: the Hero4. Most outstanding for those insisting on 4k recording is the GoPro Hero Black Edition’s ability to record 4k at 30fps, which is a significant improvement over the Hero3, which could record at 15fps.
The camera will be available for purchase October 5, 2014.

New Processor

The Hero4 boasts a new processor, improving frame rates all around. You can now shoot 2.7k at 50fps and 1080p at 120fps. The camera also has Protune settings for both still sand video allowing you to control the color, ISO and exposure.  The Hero4 can also shoot 12mp stills at 30fps.

The Hero4 Black packs a new Night Photo and Night Lapse mode which offer 30 seconds for a single Time Lapse image.  This means you can now use a GoPro to capture stars and other extreme, low-light subjects.
Highlight tagging is now available which marks your footage with metadata so you get right to the good parts when using the GoPro App, or Studio.

With a new audio system, the Hero4 Black captures hi-fi sound via a new microphone with 2 times the dynamic range.  The Hero4 is compatible with a variety of professional external microphones.
The new GoPro Hero4 comes in two versions, Hero4 Black  & Hero4 Silver.  The Hero4 Black Edition comes with a Regular, Surf or Music bundle.
