While we caught up with Zeiss the day before at the Band Pro Open House, we also spoke with Zeiss’ Annette Tindall at this weekend’s Drone Expo LA of all places. The focus here wasn’t lenses exactly, but Zeiss’ Cinemizer and VR One goggles that are perfect for using in conjunction with drones and more.
Annette Tindall started by showing us Zeiss’ new VR One virtual reality goggles. You simply place your compatible smart phone (iPhone 6, Samsung Galaxy S5) in the tray, slide them into the goggles and you’re set. You can use a number of apps to interact with different devices, such as the GoPro and DJI apps, giving you a great way to view your content, drone mounted or otherwise.
We also spoke briefly about Zeiss’ Cinemizer glasses, an item that works great with drones as we saw when we visited DJI’s offices for a test run. Utilizing DJI’s Lightbridge device, you can transmit your signal wirelessly from your drone camera to the Cinemizer, though even while tethered, Tindall says the Cinemizer is a popular item. Not only do they function well, but they’re quality made, with adjustable diopters for any level of eyesight, a sturdy body and compact size.
The Zeiss VR One is available now for just $99. For more information, visit VROne.com.
Finally, Zeiss’ Cinemizer OLED glasses are also available now, priced at $779. For more information, visit www.Zeiss.com/Cinemizer
