Attendees at this year’s HollyShorts Film Festival were treated to a Q&A session with the director and cinematographer of the award winning short, “Me + Her A Cardboard Love Story”.
If you read us regularly, you’ll recall that we’ve been covering this short film since it won at Sundance this year. This year, we were able to interview the creative team behind the film at the HollyShorts Film Festival. Blackmagic Design hosted a panel for “Me+Her”, where cinematographer Bradley Stonesifer and director Joseph Oxford talked about the making of the film.
This film is special for a couple of reasons. First it consists of puppets, sets and props all made of cardboard.
Secondly, it is one of the first shorts shot with the Blackmagic Cinema Camera to be formally recognized by not only Sundance, but a myriad of other festivals.
However, one of the most interesting aspects of this film is the backstory. What’s it take to make a short film staring homemade cardboard puppets? The answer may surprise you.
