LAPPG March 9th: "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" Colorist & Blackmagic Fusion

The Los Angeles Post Production Group (LAPPG) March meeting will be an exciting one, with the stereographer and temp colorist of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”, Juan Ignacio Cabrera, presenting “Color Grading: What you REALLY Need To Know”, and Blackmagic Design’s Rony Soussan will also be in attendance to discuss the ins and outs of Fusion 8 Studio.

BLACKMAGIC DESIGN’S FUSION

Blackmagic Design’s Rony Soussan, senior product specialist, will fusion8interfaceprovide an overview of Fusion 8 Studio and how it’s used in production today. He will cover the basic overview of the node-base workflow, compositing in 3D, particles system and much more.
 

COLOR GRADING: WHAT YOU REALLY NEED TO KNOW

Fresh from receiving two AIS award for his work on Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens,Juan_Ignacio_Cabrera-160x220 Juan Ignacio Cabrera will be presenting “Color Grading: What you REALLY Need To Know” at the LAPPG. Topics will include: Good Color Grading on every budget, Techniques, Good Practices and the Importance of Calibration & Color Management. This is a not to be missed opportunity to get a solid understanding of this vital part of filmmaking as well as having the opportunity to get your questions answered.
**Also of note, Cabrera was the colorist for the film Weaponized, on which our own Clint Milby ran B Camera. You can find it in stores, Amazon and other video on demand services.
