BorrowLenses.com has become the largest online camera and camera equipment rental companies today. Starting as an almost exclusively photo equipment resource, they have grown to accommodate the generation of video shooters spawned by the HDSLR boom. Now, they rent perhaps anything you could possibly need for video production and photography.
They carry more than just lenses (cinema and otherwise) as suggested by their name. BorrowLenses also rent out CF cards, camera bodies, support gear, bags, underwater equipment, Mac Book Pros, iPads, tripods, lights…as Jim says in the video, their line of products truly run the gamut. And the rental process couldn’t be easier.
Renting is just like buying anything else online. Except you’ll choose your item as well as the time frame you need it for, which is usually in the ammount of 3 days, 1 week, 10 days, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, or 4 weeks, or you can call them directly to customize the duration of your rental. Your rental only begins on the day of delivery that you specified during the order process.
When you receive your item, you simply keep the box/es, use your item/s, then return them to their boxes, place the included shipping label on them, and drop them off at your nearest Fed Ex location. Borrowlenses also has a handful of pick-up locations that allow you to circumvent Fed Ex’s shipping rates by paying a $25 flat fee (no matter the number of boxes) and signing for your items at the pick-up location. Also of note is that there is no deposit needed for most of their products, only the higher end ones, which means all you need to rent is a US credit card and a delivery location.
