Syrp’s line of products have always fascinated us, bringing smooth and simple motion control into a super small and easily configured package. The premiere product from Syrp, the Genie, recently got an upgrade in the form of the Genie II, so we stopped to speak with Syrp’s Ben Ryan for more info on their latest motion control device, complete with “keyframes, full camera control, Live View, high speed wireless connection, multi-axis movement and much, much more.”
A new era of motion control. The Genie II is stronger, faster and quieter than its predecessor with the same attention to simplicity and portability. Sure, you can still fit it in your backpack, but this time you’ll also be getting keyframes, full camera control, Live View, high speed wireless connection, multi-axis movement and much, much more.
Add the Syrp Genie II Linear to your slider along with the included Genie rope, and you can enjoy motorized sliding for precise tracking shots and dynamic timelapses. The Genie II can be installed on nearly any slider. Attach the main unit to your slider’s platform, and once the included Genie rope is threaded properly, the Genie II linear can automatically slide along the length of the rope. A smartphone connected via Bluetooth can control the Genie II Linear wirelessly, and when used with the Genie II Motorized Pan/Tilt Head, you can access 3 axes of motion to accomplish more advanced shots.
The Syrp Genie II is available now for pre-order for $899, with a projected June 2018 release.
