Given Hoodman’s focus on “glare reduction and optics”, we were interested to see what new products they may have for DSLRs or the Blackmagic Pocket Camera. So we spoke with Hoodman’s Bob Schmidt to find out what they had to show.
The first product was an eyepiece for the Blackmagic Pocket, the Hoodman Blackmagic Finder. The perfect piece for a sunny day, the Finder also attaches quickly and easily without falling off during use. The Hoodman Blackmagic Finder is available now for $169.99.
Hoodman also has the Blackmagic Cinema Camera “covered” with their custom hood. While offering glare protection, the hood also has a slot along the bottom for your hand to manipulate the touch screen. Schmidt also showed us a similar hood made specifically for the Convergent Design recorder. Both hoods are available now, with the Blackmagic hood costing about $99, and the Convergent Design hood about $89.
