With NAB 2016 behind us, the Los Angeles Post Production Group (LAPPG) is devoting part of their next meeting (tomorrow, April 26th) to an NAB retrospective. This post-NAB round up will feature a panel of industry pros (including our very own Clint Milby!) to discuss the highs and lows of this year’s NAB show.
The second half of LAPPG’s April meeting will feature Assistant Editor Monica Daniel to talk about transitioning from documentary to scripted television, the skills involved in both, and her work on some of today’s hit shows, such as Minority Report, Super Girl and Preacher.
As always, the $5 door ticket gets you into the meeting as well as a raffle ticket for LAPPG’s awesome giveaway. The meeting spot is the usual time and place: 7pm April 26th, Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences Community Room – Sports Complex 2nd Floor, 1634 18th Street Santa Monica, CA 90404. ASSISTANT EDITING IN SCRIPTED TELEVISION
After almost a decade editing non-scripted projects, Monica Daniel is now working as an Assistant Editor on some of the most anticipated Primetime Scripted Shows of this past year. She’ll talk about the skills that translated over from her documentary and short form days, giving her an advantage in the scripted world, as well as how she was able to transition into scripted television.
Monica is an Offline/Online Editor based in Los Angeles. She has worked for several television networks in addition to independent features that have been released by Miramax, Lionsgate and Anchor Bay Entertainment. Her work for the E! Red Carpet Awards has been seen by millions in over 100 countries around the world. In her spare time she produces/Co-Hosts an industry podcast called Going Postal Show (www.goingpostalshow.com) and promotes health in post production through Fitness in Post (www.fitnessinpost.com). She has recently moved into scripted television, working as an Assistant Editor on Minority Report (FOX) and Supergirl (Warner Bros Television). She is currently working on Preacher for AMC.
