NAB 2016: ATOCH C2S SSD Recorder For URSA and URSA Mini

I love the Blackmagic Design URSA and URSA Mini. I’m not a big fan of CFast cards. When compared to SSDs, they’re expensive and depending on what you’re shooting, you have to change them and offload them quite frequently.

Well, the good news is now you don’t have to. Filmmaker, Clifton Stommel of STöMMELHAUS has developed the Atoch C2S, SSD Recorder.

Initially designed to fill a void in our own progression through our career as filmmakers, we saw the universal need for such a solution and decided to go public with it.

Key Atoch C2S Specs:

– Powers directly from D-Tap port on your battery or plate
– Supports SanDisk Extreme Pro and Samsung 850 Pro SSDs up to 2TB
– Fully controllable through your URSA or URSA Mini’s Interface
– Doesn’t heavily interfere with the ergonomics of your camera!

By upgrading your kit with the Atoch C2S you’re expanding your URSA’s storage capacity by four times at approximately one-fourth the cost per gigabyte of CFast storage options! Concerned about write speeds? Check out the data rate benchmarks on our favorite SSD, the Samsung 850 Pro. (Spoiler alert: they are faster than CFast cards)

The Atoch C2S lists for $599.95. For more information, go to the website at www.stommelhaus.com
