NAB 2018: Get Closer Than Ever Before With The New 60mm Raptor Lens From IB/E Optics

IB/E Optics recently introduced a new 60mm focal length into their Raptor lens family, available exclusively from Band Pro. Perfect for getting in super close to your subject, the 60mm has a wide range of uses that Band Pro’s Randy Wedick expanded upon during our interview at NAB 2018.

Key Features:

  • Maximum magnification 1:1
  • No change in length (!) thanks to internal focusing
  • extended color correction (APO)
  • T-Stop 2.9 within all focal lengths
  • Constistent distance from flange to iris- and focusring
  • Front diameter of 95 mm
  • M0.8 gear wheels for focus and iris
  • UMS PL Mount (Nikon F, Canon EF, Sony NEX E, …)
  • Robust and durable mechanical design

The movement towards larger format sensors is still in progress. Early examples include RED Weapon 6K and 8K, Sony A7 or ARRI’s new ALEXA65. Larger sensors deliver the film-look and an interesting bokeh due to their very shallow depth of field. These new cameras require lenses that can cover the larger sensor sizes. The RAPTOR lens family IB/E OPTICS and BandPro offer a new macro family consisting of four focal lengths: the new 60mm, as well as 100mm, 150mm and 180mm. The RAPTOR lenses featuring coverage up to RED Weapon 8K, 1:1 magnification, all starting at T-stop T2.9 as well as robust and durable cine mechanics.

Each lens feature full frame (24mm x 36mm) coverage, 1:1 magnification, consistent T-stop T2.9, as well as robust and durable cine mechanics. Based in Germany, IB/E is a globally respected optics manufacturer known for cutting edge expanders, adapters, and lenses, including the new Arri 65 lenses. Lenses are available now and shipping worldwide through Band Pro.
