Starring Danny Glover, Sean Astin, and Vinnie Jones, “Checkmate” is a film we’ve covered a few times due to its use of the Blackmagic Cinema Camera. Now they’ve released the official trailer for the film, where you can see how well they put the BMCC to use.
As you can see, the footage looks spectacular. Using DaVinci Resolve, the folks at Status Media really brought out all they could in the images captured by the BMCC. This is something we noted when we saw the film at the Chinese Theatre, but now you can see for yourself.
“Checkmate” follows “Six people [who] are thrown together during an elaborate bank heist where any move can alter the outcome”, and stars the aforementioned Danny Glover, Sean Astin, and Vinnie Jones, as well as Mischa Barton, Michael Paré, Katrina Law, Johnny Messner, and Antwon Tanner.
