Atomos is now shipping their new HDR field monitor and recorders, the Ninja Flame and Shogun Flame, and have also released the 7.01 update to their AtomOS operating system.
The Ninja Flame and Shogun Flame are the first of their kind, displaying “10 stops of the luminance detail of Log with 10 bit HDR Post Production color accuracy”. They’re able to do this with the AtomHDR engine, which brings “HDR brightness detail (dynamic range) with 10-bit color accuracy”. The 1500nits brightness make shooting in direct sunlight not only possible but easy, and they still have all the same awesome 4K/HD ProRes/DNxHR Recording, Playback and Editing just like their non-HDR counterparts.
AtomOS 7.01 has also been released, with an update to the user interface that makes “HDR decision-making easier” by allowing you to “transition in steps from SDR to HDR with the new slider and see the number of stops above SDR and % brightness range above SDR (Rec709).”
