The music production company is offering $50,000 in cash and prizes for their Musicbed Film Initiative project in their effort to “help filmmakers tell better stories”. Perhaps best of all, there is no entry fee.
The Musicbed Film Initiative will help provide several filmmakers the resources they need to “fund their dream films and bring their passion projects to life”. Musicbed CEO and Founder Daniel McCarthy explained their ambitious project: “With the Musicbed Film Initiative, we’re committing to support the passions of filmmakers out of a desire to see their best work come to life. Our hope is that we inspire both established and emerging filmmakers to take risks and do more daring work”. The second year in row for the Musicbed Film Initiative, this year will see one winner crowned who will take home $40,000 in cash and gear, with an additional two runners-up each getting a similar package of $5,000 in value.
Today marks the first day of submissions, with April 4th being the last day to submit. Musicbed will review and choose the winners on April 8th. Submitting is very simple and free:
- Write a 350 word synopsis describing your passion project
- Collect a mood board of 15 images

Musicbed Film Initiative Brings Passion Projects to Life
$50,000 in grants support the dream projects of filmmakers
March 15th, 2016 – Musicbed today announced the launch of the Musicbed Film Initiative to inspire filmmakers, provide them with the resources they need to fund their dream films and bring their passion projects to life.

Open to filmmakers around the globe and now in it’s second year, the Initiative will give away more than $50,000 in grants, including cash, production gear and products from fellow sponsors, to eliminate some of the biggest barriers to filmmakers pursing their dream films. This year’s program will award one winner and two runners-up.

Running over the course of the next 3 weeks, the Musicbed Film Initiative calls on filmmakers to submit a story synopsis and mood board for their dream film. Musicbed staff will review each submission carefully and choose the award recipients on April 8th.
