Self admitted HDSLR Shooter, Jefferson Graham of USA Today, gives a great overview of the the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera. In this video review, Graham talks about his love affair with the DSLRs, however, the BMPCC seems to have stolen his heart with its dynamic range.
Beyond the comparison videos showing 5D Mark III footage and BMPCC footage side by side, Graham talks to Redrock Micro’s Brian Valente who gives a sneak peak of their pending BMPCC “Cinéma Vérité” kit. It seems to consist of a custom cage, handle and loop which transforms the BMPCC into a something resembling a Bolex or Super 8mm film camera. No word yet on a release date so make sure you check with redrockmicro.com for more information on what looks to be a great solution for the BMPCC.
