Always a pleasure, we spoke with Blackmaigc Design’s Tina Eckman at the Next Video Expo about their recent run of firmware updates, the new PL mount versions of their cameras, and more.
At last month’s IBC show in Amsterdam, Blackmagic released its newest firmware update. This update brought yet another oft requested feature to the Blackmasgic Production Camera, Cinema Camera and Pocket Cinema Camera: in camera SSD card formatting. This is of course in addition to the other features that have trickled down from the other camera models, such as audio meters, histogram, noise reduction and more.
Eckman also mentioned Blackmagic’s release of PL mount versions of the Blackmagic Cinema and Production Cameras. Blackmagic hopes to have them available by the end of the year, after the rush of their newly available URSA camera dies down a bit. Finally, DaVinci Resolve has also seen quite a few updates recently, with over 140 new features such as support for Advanced Dolby HDR, finer color controls and more.
