Tomorrow is the Next Video Expo+Conference, and we wanted to direct your attention to some of the awesome manufacturers that will be in attendance, and what we hope to see from them at the show.
Akitio – Booth #: 218
We’ve been using Akitio’s Palm RAID thunderbolt drive (review coming soon) for a good while now and absolutely love it. Every time we see Akitio, we get a look at another awesome drive, and they’re really a great choice for storage. They make everything from the small portable drives to desktop storage, and even large network storage drives. Deffinitely worth a look for anyone in production, as their drive’s speeds let you load and unload media fast in the field or studio.

Azden Corporation – Booth #: 102
We’ve been using Azden’s wireless microphones for years now, with no trouble whatsoever. They’ve never lost signal, there’s never been any pops or cracks in the audio. They’re a must see company for your audio capture needs.

Carl Zeiss – Booth #: 307
What is there to say about Carl Zeiss? You really can’t do any better. Zeiss’ recent releases of the Otus and Loxia families of lenses has shown their intent to move into a cost effective, adaptable stance that adds even more to their already overwhelming appeal. We’ve covered the Otus regularly, with its most recent member, the 1.4/85, having been on display at photokina. The Loxia series is exciting as well, living up to the spirit of the DSLR itself with its design that works equally well for both photo and video. We can’t wait to see more out of these lens families, and from Zeiss as a whole, at Next video Expo.
From Next Video Expo: Carl Zeiss produces the finest cinematography lenses in the world. New for 2014 is the Compact Zoom 15-30/T2.9, featuring an interchangeable mount for PL, EF, MFT, E and F mount cameras. Like the CZ.2 and CP.2 family, it is a small, light-weight lens and covering a 24×36 sensor, making them the ideal choice for a wide variety of cameras. Visit the Zeiss website at: www.zeiss.com/cine for more information.
