Adding to this year’s shining NAB guestlist, Oscar nominated cinematographer Robert Yeoman will appear as part of NAB’s Creative Master Series, produced in partnership with the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) and American Cinematographer Magazine.
Interviewed by American Cinematographer Magazine Managing Editor John Witmer, Yeoman will talk about his time on the hit and multi award nominated and winning film, and his seventh one with director Wes Anderson. This should be quite fascinating, as he’ll discuss how he managed the mix of different aspect ratios and the film’s almost candy sweet look.
You can see Yeoman on Monday April 13th at 1:45pm in South Hall, room 220. For more information, see NAB’s listing below, or visit NABShow.com
Mon. April 13| 1:45 PM – 2:45 PM | S220
Join Academy Award-nominated Robert Yeoman, ASC for a behind-the-scenes tour of The Grand Budapest Hotel, the cinematographer’s seventh feature collaboration with director Wes Anderson. Shot on 35mm film in Germany – which stood in for the fictional Republic of Zubrowka – the feature mixes aspect ratios and incorporates dynamic lighting cues, front-projection and other techniques as it elevates Anderson’s aesthetic tropes to new heights of poignant absurdity. In conversation with American Cinematographer managing editor Jon D. Witmer, Yeoman will detail the film from preproduction through its digital intermediate, and discuss how it relates to his overall body of work.
