The new Canon EOS 60Da has just been announced! This new DSLR has increased IR sensitivity specifically for astrophotogrphy. The 60Da is Canon’s first astrophotography-specialized camera since the Canon 20Da’s release in 2004.
The 60Da has a modification to the IR filter which allows usually blocked light to enter the camera, ensuring that the user is able to capture all the outstanding colors given off by diffuse nebulae. The 60Da also offers many other outstanding features including an 18.0 Megapixel CMOS (APS-C) sensor, ISO 100-6400 (expandable to 12800), and a vari-angle 3.0 inch LCD monitor. Additionally, the 60Da also shoots full 1080p HD video. With all of these new features, the Canon EOS 60Da will have you shooting stars.
