Tuesday, Nikon finally put an end to all of the hearsay and formally announced the Nikon D800.  Tech specs clearly indicate Nikon is staking a claim on the HDSLR market.  With Canon seemingly sitting on the release of the 5D Mark III (or X), or the 7D Mark II until at least March, Nikon has taken advantage of their hesitation and addressed some of the most sought after features for HDSLR shooters including:

  • Headphone Jack
  • SD and CF Card Slots
  • Wireless Record Control
