“We thought if people in our own city were hungry for educational events like this, what about other cities? One thing led to another and after months of planning and preparation the Canon Filmmakers Live U.S. Tour was born,” said Connor.
The first of the 12 events will take place in Chicago on March 8th. Over the next 30 days, the project will visit Washington, D.C., Nashville, Atlanta, Miami, Dallas, Austin, Albuquerque, Denver, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles. At each event, individuals will be able to speak with Philip Bloom about everything from camera setup to post workflow. Bloom will also be covering the latest gear and cameras, including the entire Canon DSLR line as well as the Panasonic GH2 and the Panasonic AF100.
“It has definitely been a labor of love but we really think a lot of aspiring filmmakers that wouldn’t have access to Philip Bloom, his knowledge, and experience are going to benefit greatly from this tour. Logistically this has been an overwhelming undertaking, so we definitely appreciate all of our sponsors because without them and their dedication to the independent and event filmmaking communities, none of this would be possible,” said Connor.
